Miles to go before we sleep

I thought I’d been busy lately, but clearly I was mistaken. All of the preparatory work to get WoW.com (more than a year in the making) up and running has been nothing compared to post-launch madness. Floods of e-mail, responding to user complaints or concerns, finding & troubleshooting bugs, revamping & creating help documentation in response to the day’s events, planning the next generation of site features… and still miles to go before we sleep.

I’m glad to get it out there. I’m thrilled the response has been so positive. (Yes, there are bugs, and yes, some people don’t like it, but certainly the majority of response has been positive.) However, it seems I’d been thinking of launch day as something of the light at the end of the tunnel, work done, time to kick back and relax a bit — and I’m busier today than I’ve been any day prior (including the past two when I’ve been up working to 3AM). Hopefully there’s an end of the tunnel out there somewhere, and not too far off.

In the meantime, here’s to hoping we overshot the expectations for the site.

Now, for your amusement, team moments from the past 24 hours:

Developer: I think I have a solution.
<beat>
Developer: It involves duct tape.

Blogger: You mean you aren’t 12 people Liz?
Blogger: Not since she lost the cloner in the time travel machine.
Me: Yeah, if someone ever shows up in a machine that can travel time and space and asks if i want to go with them, you guys are on your own.

Me (about a flowchart): I don’t see the JOHN FUCKING MADDEN part. Did I miss it somewhere?
Blogger: Liz swore D:
Blogger: Liz swears A LOT. You just usually don’t hear it.
Blogger: I’m going to include JOHN FUCKING MADDEN in all my charts from now on.
Blogger: “IF ANI is CQueue for 79s AND CGroup 1, 3, 4 is on OVERFLOW = JOHN FUCKING MADDEN
